Elizabeth Jewell Rivenbark Dimsdale, 97, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
Jewell was born on March 25, 1927, in Richmond County to the late Lattie Rivenbark and Elizabeth Knight Rivenbark.
After retiring from the Telephone Company at Ft. Bragg, Jewell became a homemaker raising her children. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending her azaleas. For many years she worked as a Precinct Judge for the Cumberland County Board of Elections.
She was a past member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She later became a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for as long as her health allowed.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Luther Dimsdale, Jr. and she was the last of her siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Lester Dimsdale and wife, Judy of Fayetteville, Brian Keith Dimsdale and wife, Angie of Smithfield; grandchildren, Christopher Dimsdale and wife, Kerri, Brian Dimsdale and wife, Torre, Shannon Dimsdale and Emily Thomas and husband, D.J.; and one great grandson, Hudson Dimsdale.
