Joe Denning, 88, of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Joe was born on June 14, 1935, in Harnett County, to the late Joe Denning and Ava Moore Denning. He was a mason and was a member of the Phoenix #8 Masonic Lodge. He was retired from the North Carolina Army National Guard and from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Onia Baker Denning; daughter, Rebecca Jo Denning; sister, Mattie D. Norris; brother, John Usher.

He is survived by his daughters, Joy D. Lintzenich (Jim), Cathy D. Christianson (Ray), Jennifer D. Leeds (Dr. Mark); son, Steve O Denning (Kristy); sisters, Brenda Sue Turner, and Jean Driver (William); grandchildren, Jenna Lintzenich Tindall (John), Kaleb Denning, Savannah Denning, Amber Leeds Norman (Micah), Jacob Leeds and Jason Leeds; great granddaughters, Jolene, and June Tindall.
