Obituary

FAYETTEVILLE - Joseph D. \\"Joe\\" Hartmeyer, 22, of 1691 Four Wood Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2010, in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at 4 p.m. in Salem United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the service, 2 to 4 p.m. Joe was a 2006 graduate of Cape Fear High School and 2009 graduate of Professional Golfers Career College. He loved the Tampa Bay Rays and The Florida Gators. His passion in life was golf and living life to the fullest. He is survived by his father, Jan Hartmeyer of Fayetteville; mother and stepfather, Mary and Richard Yeatts of Newport News, Va.; brother, Jeremy Hartmeyer of Fayetteville;grandmother, Betty Hartmeyer of Bradenton, Fla.; grandmother, Dorothy Sutton of Sanford; maternal grandfather, Donald Ganley and wife Arlene of Ijamsville, Md.; stepsister, Tonya Yeatts; stepbrother, Richard Yeatts, both of Newport News; stepbrother, Jamey Yeatts and wife Stephanie of Gloucester, Va.; many aunts; uncles, cousins; nieces; and nephews. He also had so many friends that loved him. We all love you and will miss you so very much. You will forever be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baywood Golf Association, Joe Hartmeyer Memorial Fund, 904, Four Wood Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28312. This fund will be for a Captains choice golf tournament to be announced at a later date. The proceeds will go to Foldes of Honor Foundation, which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military servicemen and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.
