RAEFORD - Joe \\"Joey\\" Gregory Saldua, 17, of 214 Thorncliff Drive, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in his home. Joey was a junior at Hoke County High School in Raeford and was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Raeford. Despite his disabilities, Joey shared a love for his family and friends with an abundance of joy, always showing a positive attitude. He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Fuentes Saldua. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Raeford, with Sister, Jeanne Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Dec. 11, 2008, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Joey is survived by his guardians, Elizabeth and Joe Vazquez of the home; his sisters, Kimberly Fuentes and her husband, Randy Williams, of Fayetteville and Stacey Saldua of Raeford; father, Joe Saldua of Richmond, Texas; paternal grandparents, Beatrice and Domingo Ramirez of Richmond; maternal grandparents, Janie Fuentes and Francisco Santos, both of Wallis, Texas; niece, Kirah Williams; and nephew, Johnathon Williams.
