Obituary

Fayetteville- Mr. Joel Ellis "Joe" Peele, 77, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 11 am in LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street with Dr. Gerry Davis presiding. The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 21, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.

Joe loved life. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from civil service at Ft. Bragg. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he was a Mason and a Shriner; and a faithful member of the N. Fayetteville Hardee's Breakfast Club

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Ruth Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ginger Phillips Peele; his brother, Dale Peele of Valentine, VA; his daughters, Lynette Croutharmel and husband Rick of Apex, Lorna Hirsch and husband Frank of Raleigh, and Mandy McMillan and husband Bill of Fayetteville; and 5 grandchildren, Natalie Croutharmel, Hayden Hirsch, Hadley Hirsch, Colton Croutharmel, and Caroline McMillan; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
