John "Ash" Leonard Ashby, 94 of Fayetteville, NC died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and spent most of his life there. He was a veteran of World War II. He retired as owner of a commercial Landscaping company. John was a member of Galatia Seniors Club and Christ United Methodist Church. John is survived by his wife of 56 Years, Eleanora; three sons, Leonard and wife Carrie, Mark, Eric and wife Juanita; two daughters Tanya and husband Larry and Dawn and Husband Medula. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 1pm on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC. The Memorial Service will follow at 2pm at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
