Mr. John W. "Bill" Hankins, Jr., 74, of Fayetteville passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 in his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Sr. and Reba Canipe Hankins; a daughter, Lori Hankins; and a sister Libby Hankins Hartline. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 11:30 am in LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street with Dr. J. Ernest Johnson officiating. He is survived by his wife, Billie Estes Pender Hankins; a sister Reba Hankins Wilson of Charlotte; two daughters, Kathy Hankins Harris of Dallas, TX, and Keri Hankins Jordan and husband Steve of San Antonio, TX; four stepchildren, Carlton Pender and wife Joan of Atlanta, GA, George Pender and wife Chris of Cary, Sally Pender Bryant and husband William of Fuquay-Varina, and Susan Pender Ferris and husband Gary of Fayetteville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hankins owned and operated East Coast Wheel and Accessories in Fayetteville. After closing his business he worked a short time in sales before retiring.
