John Gilbert Booth, 89, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

John was born on January 10, 1932, in Robeson County to the late Willie H. Booth, Sr. and Daisy Stephens Booth. He was retired from the U.S. Army and from Civil Service at Ft. Bragg.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. Tommy Underwood officiating. Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon -1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

John was preceded in death by two wives, Shirley H. Booth and Mary Cain Booth; brothers, Willie H. Booth, Jr.  and Donnie Booth; sisters, Betty Britt and Clara Juanita Booth.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Fred Alan McLaughlin and wife Virginia, Hoyt Wade Booth and wife Joanne, Vicki Rose Kennedy and husband Mike, Connie Hensley, Kimberly Anderson, and husband David.
