Mr. John William Britt, 93, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held Thursday October 29, 2015 at 11 AM at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home one hour prior to the service Thursday October 29, 2015 from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie P. Britt, his son John William Britt Jr., and his great granddaughter Mary Isabel Downing.

He is survived by his daughter Mae Britt, sister Doris Branch; daughter in law Margaret Britt; 4 grandchildren: John Downing, Johnnie Britt, Stephie Harty, and Gary Snyder; 5 great grandchildren: Anna Britt Harty, Molly Harty, Katherine Downing, Brittany Snyder, and Brooklyn Snyder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UNC Children's Hospital.
