John J. \\"Joe\\" Brunson Jr., 69, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, in his home. Mr. Brunson was retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after serving for 20 years. He was also retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 30 years. The funeral will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Wesley Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Brunson is survived by his wife, Sandra F. Brunson, of the home; two sons, John J. \\"Jamie\\" Brunson III and his wife, Donna, of Fayetteville and Gary L. Brunson and his wife, Melody, of Cary; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Sanders of Jacksonville; and a granddaughter, Jaime E. Brunson of Fayetteville.
