FAYETTEVILLE - John Walter Butler Sr., 59, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, in his home.
Mr. Butler was the owner of Butler's Electric Supply. He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville. Mr. Butler also was a board member for BB&T, and he was on the board of visitors for Methodist College and Lake Waccamaw Boys & Girls Home.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in Highland Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Ewart Wyle and Dr. Ernie Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service Saturday in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Susan Smith Butler of the home; son, John W. Butler Jr. of Fayetteville; daughter, Ashley Butler Blue and her husband, Roscoe III, of Fayetteville; three brothers, Benjamin Butler and his wife, Vicki, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., James Butler and his wife, Lois, of Wilmington and Carlos Butler and his wife, Kelly, of Greensboro; his mother, Marie T. Butler of Advance; and a grandson, R. Leighton Blue IV.
