Retired U.S. Army CW-4 John Frank Butt, 87, of Hope Mills passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 in his home.

John was retired from the US Army after 30 years of service, including three tours in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife Nita; his two sons, John Jr. and wife Kathy and Jim; three daughters, Connie Blosser and husband Clark, Sandra Hellier, and Libby Hester; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will held Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 5, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Springfield Friends Church Cemetery in High Point with military honors.
