John David Calhoun, Sr., 78, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday November 20, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

John was born April 28, 1943  in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Rubelle and Elbert Dewey Calhoun, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Calhoun and sister, Janet Kuhn.

John was a retired Station Manager of the US Postal Service and most recently managed the Haymount Post Office.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Yvonne Godwin Calhoun; daughters, Lisa Calhoun Dietzen, Katherine Calhoun Pierce; son, John David Calhoun, Jr. and wife Amy; brother, Charles Calhoun, Sr. grandchildren, Landon Calhoun and wife Alexis, Rebecca Dietzen, Carson Pierce, Kennedy Grace Pierce, Elliot Pierce, Elizabeth Calhoun, David Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Claros and Layla Grace Calhoun.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
