"Chief" (CW4) John Daniel Graves U.S. Army (Ret). 75, Fayetteville, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Womack Army Medical Center.

Chief Graves was retired from the U.S. Army after 43 years of service, and for 12 years he was employed with Cumberland County School system.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Evelyn Maxwell Graves; brothers, Troy F. Graves, Jr and Von Graves; sisters, Carolyn Graves and Claudia Cooke.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Barbara A. Graves; sons, Richard Graves and Ricky Graves; daughter, Vickie G. Haney (Larry) grandchildren, Johnathon Graves (Paige), Paige, Tori, Nikki Ferber (Michael), T.J. Hubbard (Chris), Danielle Graves (Bradly) and Zoe; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Hannah Ferber, Brianna Graves, Zane, Erin and Jeremy Beyer and several other great grandkids.
