Mr. John E. Hair, Jr., 76, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, May 31, 2014. John was born in Cumberland County on September 12, 1937, to the late Levada Baker and John E. Hair, Sr. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who also inspired many area youth on football and baseball fields as he was a great coach. John was also the premiere salesman of fine clothing for both men and women as he dressed many of Fayetteville's Who's Who for many, many years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 11 am in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Dr. John Hedgepeth presiding. The burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 6, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home and other times at Melissa Barbour's home, 1512 Quail Hollow Court. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Mullenax Hair of the home; 2 sons, John Hunter Hair and wife Heather of Cary and Forbes Hair and wife Sheila of Hope Mills; daughter, Sean Smith Wrench and husband Donald of Broadway; 2 sisters, Mitzi Squire and husband Joseph and Melissa Barbour, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Trevor, Olivia, Wes, Jess, Dustin, Dylan, Seth, Andrew, Leah, Greg and Lisa; dogs, Charlie, Chili, Pepper, Mary Jane and Oscar; and cats, Midnight, Ozzie, and Calico. Special love and thanks to Shirley and Hector Neri who made life enjoyable for John. Also, special thanks to Kendra Griffiths and Latisha Wooten, who were faithful caregivers.
