Obituary

John Phillipe Masson, 78, of Wade passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home.

John was born June 5, 1942 in France to the late Geneive and Phillipe Masson. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joe McCamish.

John was an Army and a disabled veteran. He served four tours in the Vietnam War.

John was a retired Los Angeles Police Officer for 30 years.

He was the Past Master of the Creasy Proctor Masonic Lodge and earned the 32nd degree. John was Past Grand Patron with the Fayetteville Eastern Star Chapter in 2008 and 2009. He was a member of the York Rite. John was a past member of the Shriners in California. He was the overseer of the elections in the Grand Chapter of NC.

Due to the Covid virus, memorial services will be held at a later date.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Linda Overbee Masson; daughter, Nancy Lorriane McCamish; son, Johnny Grey Masson and wife Teresa Ann; brothers, John Pierre Masson and wife Julie and Alian Masson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
