John Charles Tompkins, Sr. 86 of Fayetteville, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his residence.

John was born October 29, 1932 in Columbus County, N.C. to the late George Harley and Mabel Harper Tompkins. He was the Owner and Operator of J & D Video.

He was preceded in death by his son Russell Tompkins.

He is survived by his wife Delia Snow Tompkins; sons, John Charles Tompkins, Jr., Richard Tompkins; daughters, Debbie Strickland, Terri Cook, Sherry Tompkins, Joyce Collins, Crystal Tompkins, Angela Spires; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
