Mr. Johnnie D. Thomas, 73, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015, after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 3 pm in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Scott McCosh presiding. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, February 21, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.

Johnnie was retired from PWC after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Big Daddy" and Frances Turner Thomas; and a sister, Betty Singletary.

Johnnie is survived by his wife, Jane Thomas of the home; son, Robert Thomas and wife Cheryl of Hope Mills; daughters, Marie McCarroll and husband John of Eastover and Kelly Draughon and husband Randy of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Jerri Walden and husband Mike of Gray's Creek and Butch Hancock and wife Missy of Parkton; 9 grandchildren, Melissa and Cody Thomas, Johnathon and Jacob McCarroll, Kendal and Kaygan Draughon, Jonathan and Alyssa Hancock, and Megan Walden; sister, Catherine Reece and husband Bobby of Fayetteville; and brothers, William Thomas and wife Lorraine of Virginia and Bobby Allen Thomas of Ohio.
