EASTOVER- John Bullock "Johnny" Patterson, 70, of Eastover, NC, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock am Thursday, December 6, 2012, in Salem United Methodist Church, officiated by the Reverend Doctor Bill Snotherly. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. Johnny was a lifelong resident of Eastover, which he loved with all his heart and soul. He was the son of Charles Daniel "Pat" Patterson and Gladys Bullock Patterson and the step-son of Ruth Williams Patterson. He graduated from Central High School where he played basketball with a team of winners as friends and athletes. They took their game to the 1960 state championship in High Point, NC. He loved to relive those glory days. Johnny worked for Singer Company, Lafayette Ford and Patrick Ford. His love of the auto industry encouraged him to open Patterson Auto Sales. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Della Washburn Patterson. They enjoyed a wonderful life with their children, taking trips, spending time with their grandchildren, church activities and civic community events. He leaves a daughter, Alice Rose Patterson Armentrout and husband, Scott W. Armentrout of Radford, VA; a son Jonathan Daniel Patterson and wife, Christy Bullard Patterson; two grandchildren, Dylan Scott Armentrout and John Alexander "Zan" Armentrout of Radford; he is also survived by a brother, Steve Patterson and wife Mary Patterson; and a special cousin, Claire Sykes and husband Kenneth Sykes.
