Obituary

Johnny Christopher Sandoval, 93, of Fayetteville passed away on February 24, 2022, at his residence with his family by his side.

Johnny was born on January 9, 1929, in Canon, Colorado. He retired as MSG from the U.S. Army where he served in the Special Forces. He then went to work with the Army Air Forces Exchange where he retired after 20 years of service. His hobby was coin collecting.

He was a loving father, grandfather, grandpa, and friend to all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Johnny was preceded in death by his loving wife, Setsu Araki Sandoval.

He is survived by his son, George Christopher Sandoval, and wife Delia; grandchildren, Steven Sandoval, Michael Sandoval and wife Sharon, Patrick Sandoval, and wife Spephaney; great grandchildren, Deven, Darrin, Andrew, Gracelynne, Ava and Octavia; sisters, Cindy, Dorothy and Carmilita.
