Jose P. Lopez, Jr., 61, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at First Health Hospice after a brief illness.

Jose was born on February 16, 1962, in the Bronx to the late Jose P. Lopez, Sr and Lydia Scott Ruiz. He was an U.S. Army Veteran.

Growing up in the Bronx, Jose was given the nick names of Apache and the Godfather. He loved his family and was an amazing grandfather to his one and only granddaughter.

He enjoyed music, movies, dancing, traveling and was always the life of the party. He worked through the years as a glazier where he owned his own company and was contracted by Ft. Bragg. He was a hard worker and was currently employed with AAA Glass Co.

Jose was a Jack of all trades.  He was very spiritual and educated, especially with family history, where he enjoyed sharing at family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ana Lydia Ramos, Odette Ramirez, and Juan Durand.

He is survived by his sons, Peter Lopez, Michael A. Lopez, and Vincent Lopez; granddaughter, Jayliana Marie Lopez; siblings, Aida Serrano, Lydia Serrano, and David Lopez; and the mother of his children, Dee Lopez.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
