FAYETTEVILLE - Joseph W. \\"Joe\\" Fields, 88, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. Joe Fields was a retired business owner of J.W. Fields Trucking company. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elease; and two brothers, Bill and Tom. He loved his family, friends and church. He had an open heart and embraced everyone. His quick wit brought many smiles. A visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, followed by the funeral service at noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 3. He is survived by three daughters, Kay, Carolyn and Robin, all of Fayetteville; and two grandsons, Joseph Brent and Eric, both of Fayetteville.
