Matthew had a beautiful baritone voice. He played the drums and acted in local theatres in and around Fayetteville and New Port Richey, Florida.  He enjoyed hearing and telling a good joke.  Even after his illness progressed, he would continue calling family members from his hospital bed to tell a story or pun to make them laugh.
