Joseph \\"Dale\\" Taylor, of Eastover, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, after a fight with cancer. He was 48. Dale was born July 15, 1961, in Fayetteville. Dale is survived by his wife, Wanda Taylor; parents, James \\"Jim\\" Taylor and Mary \\"Maggie\\" Taylor; father- and mother-in-law, Earl and Glenda Haynes; sister, Marilyn Moore; brother and sister-in-law, Stoney and Pam Taylor; nine nieces; four nephews; a great-niece; two great-nephews; and several aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his special babies, Sydney, Nikki, Cissy and Mr. Cat; and great friend and fishing partner, James Hair. Dale was the the owner of D.T. Auto Sales since 1993. He was well-known in the automobile industry since 1985. Dale was also an avid fisherman with Carolina Bass Anglers and participated in bass tournaments with CBA for 19 years. He served as an officer for 16 of those years, including being treasurer, vice president and president, an office he held longer than anyone. He fished many tournament trials, including Carolina Bass Anglers, National Bass, Greenville Marine and N.C. State Bass Federation. He was angler of the year for three times while fishing the Carolina Bass Anglers. Dale had a short fight with cancer. The thing was that he lived his life to the fullest. When he worked, he worked hard. When he played, he played hard, always with a smile, and he would help anyone he could. He would laugh with you, or he would cry with you. There could be no better husband, brother, son or friend than Dale Taylor. He will be truly missed. With Dale's passing, it shows God really did need another angel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Salem Methodist Church in Eastover. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A special thank you for all your love and support, brother Bill and Sherrie Haynes.
