Joyce McLamb Broome, 77, of Eastover, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

A memorial service will be held in Fayetteville Community Church on Monday, June 12, 2017, at 11 am. The burial will follow at Strickland Family Cemetery.

Joyce was born and raised in Dunn by the late Raymond and Nettie McLamb. She worked for almost 40 years at the New York Restaurant in Fayetteville; and was a longtime member of Fayetteville Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Broome; son, Charles Ronald Thorne; and grandson, Daniel Ross Jones.

She is survived by her daughters, LaRhonda Woodall and husband, John, of Dunn and Sharon Thorne Hughes and husband Wayne, of Fayetteville; a step-son, Robert Earl Broome of Dunn; 8 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
