Joyce Gaskins DeBruhl, 82 of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Joyce was born on August 22, 1935 in Kinston, N.C. to the late Pauline Webber and Ray E. Gaskins. Joyce was the owner of DeBruhl Accounting. She was an active member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. DeBruhl, Sr. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 12 noon in St. Matthews United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Seals, officiating. Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Mrs. DeBruhl is survived by her husband, Edward G. Faulkner of Fayetteville; daughters, Deborah Currie and husband Donald of Fayetteville and Jacqueline DeBruhl of Fayetteville; son, James T. DeBruhl, Jr. and wife Eileen of Hope Mills; brothers, Edward Gaskins and wife Diane of Port Charlotte, Florida and Robert Gaskins and wife Susan of Knightdale; grandchildren, Brian Currie, Joseph Currie, Tara Nichols, Christine Cashwell, Ashley DeBruhl, Bradley DeBruhl and David DeBruhl; 15 great-grandchildren.
