Mrs. Joyce Barbour Massei died peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2011. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 2 pm in Haymount United Methodist Church, 1700 Fort Bragg Road, by Rev. Woody Wells. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 pm in the Commons Room at the church. Joyce was a longtime member of Haymount United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie L. Massei, Jr. and a son, James Michael Massei, Sr. She is survived by a son, Ernie L. Massei, III and his wife, Diane, of Dallas, Texas; two stepdaughters, Cathy Cray and her husband, Artie, of Mechanicsville, VA, and Donna Kurtze and her husband, Clark, of Glen Allen, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Massei of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Bob Barbour; and several nieces and nephews. She was blessed with wonderful and dedicated friends, Dan and Karen Maxwell, Wilma Lytton, Carol Black, and Gracie Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haymount United Methodist Church, 1700 Fort Bragg Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303.
