Julian Mckinley
Warwick
November 18, 1958 – February 19, 2022
Julian McKinley Warwick, age 63, entered the gates of Heaven at 7:36 p.m., Saturday, February 19,2022.
He entered this world, November 18, 1958, at the Bladen County Hospital, Elizabethtown, NC. Near the age of two his parents moved the family to Fayetteville. He began to attend Bible Baptist Church on the church bus with his mother. During his teen years he worked on the church bus and even began driving one of them when he got his license. When he was sixteen during spring break, the teen boys went to Sand Mountain Bible Camp in Georgia to make repairs preparing the camp for the summer campers. While there, they attended a revival at one of the local Baptist churches. He realized his need for a Savior and on Thursday night he asked Jesus into his heart. He adopted his life verse that week. II Corinthians 5:20 "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God."
During his senior year in high school, his dad passed away. He joined the U.S. Army with the purpose of caring for his mother. He spent six years in the military, most of it was in Germany. During the year he was stationed at Ft. Bragg, he met his future wife, Nancy Foster. Her dad was the pastor of the church he grew up in. Their courtship grew and after he was honorably discharged in 1983, they were married. They spent 39 years together.
Most of these years were spent serving the Lord together. Whether it was working on a church bus, singing specials together, his teaching Sunday School classes, holding services at local nursing homes, being a youth director, being the assistant pastor to his father-in-law or being a deacon in his current church, they worked side by side.
After a severe head injury at work in 2016, that affected many parts of his body, Julian was not able to serve the Lord like he desired. It saddened him that he was not able to attend church, or drive the church bus any longer.
He loved his family dearly and his greatest prayer and wish was to know that they would all join together in Heaven one day, regardless of who went first.
