Retired Air Force Staff Sergeant K.C. Williamson, 83, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday morning, August 24, 2012, at Autumn Care of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 26th at 3 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Atkinson presiding. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 at the funeral home.
The graveside service for Mr. Williamson will be held on Wednesday, August 29th at noon in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with military honors.
Mr. Williamson served in both the US Army and the US Air Force and retired after a combined 20 years of service. Following the military, he went to work with Paris and Potter Enterprises – Kentucky Fried Chicken for almost 20 years.
K.C. is survived by his wife, Mildred C. Williamson of the home; two daughters, Linda Long of Colorado and Teresa Diane Autry (Jimmy) of Fayetteville; 4 sons, Donald Williamson of Fayetteville, Ronald Williamson of Clayton, Paul Williamson (Denise) of St. Pauls, and Fred Williamson (Sharon) of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren, LaCretia, April, Donnie, Kelly, Cassie, Justin, Kayla, Jordan, Jared, and Jacob; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randall.
The family asks that memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice that supports dementia research.
Visitation: Sunday August 26, 2012 from 2pm to 3pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home
Funeral: Sunday August 26, 2012 at 3pm in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 12noon at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
