Kameron Marie
Dobie
May 19, 2017
Kameron Marie Dobie was granted her angel wings on May 19, 2017, following a lifelong illness. Her life was spent surrounded by family and friends that Kameron had touched in some small way through her short, yet very memorable life.
Kameron's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle infectious smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard.
Although Kameron's illness made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage, she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She could spend hours cuddling close to those she loved so much, especially her Papa. She enjoyed music, sleeping late, and being outdoors. She loves listening to the sounds of children and especially laughter which would make her smile. She loved spending time at the beach with her family, where she loved to listen to the waves and sit in the sunshine.
With Kameron's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, especially her winning smile. She will remain in our hearts forever. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be her parents. We are so thankful Kameron's sister Ardynn met her sister so she can hold dear the memory of Kameron's gentle spirit.
Kameron leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. Kameron's love extends to all the wonderful UNC PICU Staff. There is a special place in our hearts for Kameron's UNC PICU team, along with Dr. Henry "Memaw Henry" because of their continual dedication, love and support, Kameron was able to survive some of her toughest medical challenges.
