Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Katie O. Bedsole, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 20, 2013, after a lengthy illness. She was a joy to everyone who knew her and encouraged people in their walk with the Lord. Katie was a devoted member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, was a member of the Chancel Choir, and the United Methodist Women. Over the years she served on various committees. She was a former co-owner of Owen's Florist where she served until her retirement. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Camp Ground United Methodist Church with Rev. Haywood Smith and Rev. David Wade officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Katie was born September 8, 1939, in Fayetteville to the late John Ray and Ava Delle Owen. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Pollock and husband Robert of Fayetteville and Jennifer Brookhouse and husband Deryck of Fayetteville; sister, Ava Monroe and husband Arnold of Hillsborough; and 4 grandchildren, Katelyn, Brandon, Ellie and Ava Kate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
