FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Kathryn Wooten Howell, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, in Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.
Born June 23, 1920, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Darleigh Z. and Lottie Rozier Wooten. She attended school at Fayetteville School and graduated with an RN degree from Watts School of Nursing in Durham.
She was married to Marvis Eugene Howell Sr. They were married for 67 years before Marvis' death March 1, 2007.
Kathryn was a lifelong member of Haymount United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Darlene Hunniecutt and husband Joe of Greenville, and Cynthia Farr and husband Jimmy of Wake Forest; son, Marvis Eugene "Gene" Howell and wife Patricia of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jay Jackson, Christopher Dell'Anno, Kathryn Lakey, Drew Jackson, Trey Howell and Bradley Smith; great-grandchildren, Sarah Devlin, Jacob Moore, Zachary Moore, Kara Lakey, Jack Lakey and Avert Smith.
She was preceded by her husband, Marvis Eugene Howell Sr.; granddaughter, Deborah Kathryn Moore; and great-grandson, David Andrew Moore
