Obituary

Kenneth Earl Hancock, 90, of Stedman departed for his heavenly home on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born and raised in Olanta, S.C. Following high school graduation began a life of service in the US Army from 1945-1949 proceeding to graduate from both Emmanuel College and the University of Georgia. His career began in SC as a high school agriculture teacher, served as Dean of Boys at Emmanuel College, and served at Falcon Children's Home from 1955 until 1962. He moved his family to Stedman in 1962 and became a business owner in a community he loved.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. He is preceded in death by his wife, Della Floyd; son, Ken Hancock, Jr.; son-in-law, Randal Strickland. He is survived by his children; June Strickland of Autryville, David Hancock and wife Lisa of McDonough, Ga., and daughter-in-law Donna Hancock Richardson of Stedman and a sister Mert Clark of Columbia, S.C. He was loved by his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
