Ret. Air Force MSGT Kenneth G. Herr, Jr., 49, of Fayetteville, NC died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in Seguin, Texas. Mr. Herr was a decorated veteran who retired after 20 years of service. He then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Campbell University majoring in Elementary Education. After teaching for six years, he returned to work for the DoD as a manpower analyst. During his first year of service he was nominated for Distinguished Civilian of the Year at Randolph AFB. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth G. Herr, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Herr, their daughter Renee Meredith and husband Wesley, and their son, KJ Herr, two grandchildren, Alexis and Kaleb Meredith, his mother Cleo Speelman Herr, stepmother Connie Herr, sisters Deanna Herr, Regina Keniston, her husband Mark, and brother Ricky Herr,Stepbrothers Kent Ramsey and wife Carol, and Wendall Ramsey The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC. Visitation: 6-8 PM, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral: Liberty Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1 PM.
