Kenneth Houston Tart, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Carroll S. Roberson Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. He had been in declining health for several years. Kenneth was born August 4, 1935 in Sampson County. He was an ordained minister of the North Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was the founder and President of Tart Realty & Insurance, Inc.; Spring Lake Construction, Inc.; and Lake Investments. He had been a real estate broker for 51 years. He is survived by his wife, Melree Hubbard Tart of the home; a son, Kenneth Houston Tart, Jr. of Fayetteville; two daughters: Rebekah Wiens and husband Ed Wiens of Fayetteville and Mary Whitaker of Fayetteville; a brother, Delwyn Paige Tart and wife Karen of LaGrange; eight grandchildren: Tyler Ward and wife Sarah; Travis Ward and wife Christen; Jordan Ward; Kaitlin Carroll and husband Ben all of Raleigh; Emily and Mary Alice Whitaker and Anna and Kenan Tart all of Fayetteville; three great grandchildren: Blake, Harrison and William. Kenneth was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Melree Tart; his parents, Joseph Henry and Agnes Page Tart and a brother, Henry Sherill Tart. The family will receive friends on Saturday March 31 from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the Baywood Pentecostal Holiness Church in Eastover, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Officiating ministers will be Rev. Wiley Clark, Rev. John Hedgepeth and Rev. Oris Hubbard. The burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Visitation: Saturday March 31, 2012 at Baywood Church from 12noon to 1:45pm followed by the service in the church at 2pm, followed by the burial at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street
