Kyong Ai Hong Hess, 86, of Fayetteville passed away Friday June 11, 2021 at Womack Army Medical Center.

She was born January 18, 1935 in Korea. Kyong was preceded in death by her daughter, Rose Marie Brown.

Kyong was a devoted member of the Korean Bethel Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. She was a dedicated Army wife who loved to garden and cook for her family and friends. Kyong had a wonderful sense of humor and was a talented dancer. She loved Disney movies, superhero movies, and Korean films. Kyong enjoyed the finer things in life such as perfumes, shoes, and purses. She loved to visit Casinos and especially enjoyed the slots. Most of all, she cherished the memories shared with her beloved family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Mr. John Hess IV; her daughter, Michelle DePaul and husband David; her three sons, John H. Hess V, Bobby Brown and wife Diane, Richard Brown and wife Kathy; seven grandchildren Krystal Hess, Johnny Hess VI, Kaelani Hess, Amanda Brown, Megan Brown, James Brown, and Kelly Brown; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday June 16 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday June 17 at 10AM at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home with Pastor Duk-eun Park officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Korean Bethel Presbyterian Church at 901 Bunce Road Fayetteville, NC 28314.
