Larry Ray Godwin, Jr., 65, of Fayetteville, passed peacefully into Heaven on Saturday, December 31, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 24, 1957, in Fayetteville, NC to Larry Ray Godwin, Sr. and Reba Tew Godwin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Ray Godwin, Sr. and brother, Curtis Martin Godwin.

Larry Is survived by his mother, Reba Godwin of Granite Falls; sisters, Sheila Abe (Dan) of Fayetteville; Valerie Taylor (Jeff) of Hickory; children, Jennifer Fisher (Jeremy) of Fayetteville, Larry Godwin III "Trey" (Melissa) of Stedman, Allison Mews (Jeff) of Stedman and Cpl. Cullen Godwin (Sydney) of Eastover; grandchildren, Jenna, Cadence, Jessa, Tucker, Hayes, and Reed.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Fayetteville, NC, where he graduated from Fayetteville Academy. He worked for his father's business, Larry's Sausage Co. and various sales positions. He never met a stranger and would always tell everyone about the best sausage around, Larry's Sausage. Larry was strong in his faith and enjoyed being a choir member in the church. He was a proud father, grandfather, and a true patriot.  He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Stedman Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Michael Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery #3 in Fayetteville. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
