Larry Austin Reeves, 80, of Fayetteville, NC, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Larry was born April 6, 1942, in Cumberland County, to the late Perlie Austin Reeves and Bertha Holmes Reeves.  He retired from the US Postal Service and was an active member of Pearce's Mill Fire Department from 1956 – 2022.

Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Reeves; and sisters, Shirley Coleman, Hilda Sibbett, and Linda Berckman.

Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Poe Reeves; children, Glenn Reeves (Judith), Stacy Reeves (Kimberly), Scott Reeves (Annie), Sherry Thomas, and Stephen Moore; sister, Sara Foy; grandchildren, Ashley Reeves, Matthew Reeves, Seth Reeves, Jacob Reeves, Brooklyn Reeves, Blaire Reeves, Erica Punch, Madison Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Sophia Reeves and Brooklyn Street.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at First Church Fayetteville, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  A private burial will follow.
