RAEFORD - Lee Carner Garber, 60, of Raeford, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in Moore Regional Hospital, where he received loving, compassionate and professional care.
Lee graduated from Fayetteville High School in June 1969. He attended North Carolina State University for two years and graduated from Campbell College in May 1974. He began his career in 1976, with the Department of Social Services. After retirement, he started his post retirement career at Gander Mountain, which he helped open in June 2007. Lee loved working in the hunting and firearms area, where he shared his knowledge with his many repeat customers.
Gander Mountain was the perfect fit for Lee. There he shared his passion for all the great outdoors and hunting.
Lee is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon Cox Garber; parents, Dr. and Mrs. E.C. Garber Jr. Lee is also survived by Ned and Caroline Garber, Amy Garber Byrd, Molly Garber and Ross and Anna Byrd; and his best friends, Joe and Linda Latino.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, prior to the service in the parlor room.
