Fayetteville - Lee Adam Cheek, Jr of Fayetteville, died in his home in the company of his loving family on Monday, September 7, 2015. Son of the late Lee Adam Cheek, Sr. and Flossie McKinney Cheek, Lee was born in Marion, NC on April 1, 1930. He enlisted in the U.S. Army; and in 1950, was stationed in Tokyo, Japan where he met and married the love of his life, Tsutose Morinaga. They have been married for 64 years. Lee had a distinguished 20 year career in the Army and retired as Captain in 1967. Survivors include his wife Tsutose (Chiyoko) Cheek of Tokyo Japan; daughter and sonin-law, Christine and Greg Higgins; and his granddaughter and her husband Christine Morinaga and Brian Kerrigan; brothers Max Cheek and Ray Cheek and his wife Reba. The family will receive friends at 1:30 prior to the 2:00 service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Friday, September 11, 2015. .
