Obituary

Leon Keith Barbour, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away at his residence on August 6, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

Keith was born November 20, 1929, in Harnett County to the late Cyrus Keiffer Barbour and Ethel Bundy Barbour.

Keith retired from Sears as a TV Repairman and was the co-owner and operator of K and K Builders.  He was a master carpenter and built exquisite furniture.  He was a ham radio operator, played the violin and other musical instruments by ear, and loved to sing.  He even built his own violin!  Keith had a wonderful sense of humor and was always telling a joke.

He was a faithful member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder.

He was a loving husband, father, and "Pa" to his grandchildren.

Keith is survived by his wife of 75 years, Ann Dozier Barbour; daughters, Sherry Starling, Susan Starling (Roger); Elizabeth Shelton (William); 13 grandchildren, and numerous great grand and great great grandchildren, and a host of friends and other distant relatives.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Donald Keith Carter officiating.  Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
