Fayetteville-Leon Edgar Keefe (Eddie), of Fayetteville, went to his eternal home with his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 27, 2015 after 58 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Leon Keefe, his mother Hanna Rae Bazen Keefe, and by his first wife Rebecca Darden Keefe.

Eddie was born in Greenville, SC on October 19, 1956. Most of his life was spent in Fayetteville, NC. He worked at Goodyear Tire Co. for 30 years before retiring. In his spare time he enjoyed playing the game of golf and spending as much time with his family as possible. His church family was also an important part of his life. He was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. Eddie always had an encouraging and kind word to share. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Schultz Keefe; his stepmother Margie Pearson Keefe; his daughter Julie Till (Bryan) of Fayetteville; sons James Keefe (Caryn) of Linden, Bazen Keefe of Fayetteville, Gene Keefe of Linden, Walker Keefe of Linden, and Carl Keefe of the home. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Raegan, Ryleigh, and Gracyn Keefe.

In addition he is survived by three sisters. Patty Downing (Ricky) of Raleigh, Melody Inman (Steve) of Fayetteville, Mendy Taylor (David) of Erwin.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am today, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church on Rosehill Road. Officiating will be Dr. Randy White, Rev. George Williams, and Rev. Ray Morawski. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street following the service. Eddie's sons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation was Wednesday evening April 29, 2015 at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
