Leon Paul Foles "Lee" 84 died Thursday, June 23, 2011 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason, brother, Charles Edward, sister, Dorothy, and his parents, Anna & Charles Edward Foles. Born in Portland, Oregon, Mr. Foles joined the Army in 1948, where he served with the 82nd Airborne. He retired from Civil Service after 26 years of service, where he worked at the John F Kennedy School of Special Warfare as an Audio Visual Technician. Mr. Foles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eloise Foles; sons, Paul Anthony Foles and wife Mary, and Michael Foles and wife Marilou; daughter, Mary Catherine and husband Ray Perry; grandchildren, Natalie Jean Foles, Carlo and Antonio Foles, Justin Foles and wife Shanda, Elizabeth Carroll and husband Alan, Chris Nichols and wife Jackie, Beth Knuckles and husband John; and 7 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 12 noon in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Cyndi McClendon and the Rev. Wayne Chandler officiating. The burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 10:30am until 12 Noon at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
