Leslie Vicki Thaxton, 67, of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Vicki was born May 31, 1955 in South Charleston, West Virginia to the late Metzel Cochran and Morris Turley.

Vicki loved working with children having been a kindergarten teacher. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Vicki enjoyed scrap booking, crocheting, and loved tending to her butterfly garden.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. Billy Shaw, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-2:00 pm. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Rd. Charlotte, NC 28262.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 45 years, James W. Thaxton; sons, James Daniel Thaxton (Ahna), Joshua Paul Thaxton, sister, Lisa Smith (John), niece, nephew; 2 great-nieces,2 great nephews, 11 cousins.
