Lester Jean Batchelor Wilkins, 85 of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at The Cardinal of North Hills in Raleigh.

Lester was born on July 22, 1935 to the late Lester Meredith Batchelor and Leila Mae Watson Batchelor. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed arts, theatre, shopping and was a world traveler.

Lester was a devoted second grade teacher for 40 years, most of which was spent at Pope Elementary School on Ft. Bragg. Her legacy will live on in the lives of the hundreds of children she loved and nurtured.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 12 noon at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11- 12 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Davison Heriot Wilkins, Sr.; son, Davison Heriot Wilkins, Jr.; and an infant sister, Lily Batchelor.

She is survived by her son, Lester Meredith Wilkins; grandchildren, Jennifer Wilkins Tenuta, Davison Heriot Wilkins III, Sarah Ashley Wilkins and her fur baby, Jeannie.
