Lieselotte "Lotte"
(Geiss) Hudson
December 18, 1943 – February 24, 2022
Lieselotte Hudson, 78, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at home with her beloved family by her side. Lotte, as most people knew her, was full of life, strength, and happiness. She took on many trades throughout the years from showing dogs, to racing cars, or being the most glamorous DJ in the Carolinas. She never let age slow her down from doing the things she loved and sharing those experiences with the people she loved even more. She was extremely compassionate and absolutely adored her animals. If there ever was an injured or stray cat, dog, bird, squirrel... or even an opossum, they could find a loving, caring home with Lotte. She saw all life as precious and worth every second of her time and compassion. Lotte loved being outdoors, especially with the flowers in spring. You could always find her outside carefully manicuring her yard or spending time with her loveable dogs under cool shade. When the night came you could find her cooking for and sharing laughs with friends and family, or maybe you saw her spinning records at the club, dancing along with the music. She was a fighter, born of hard times in post-war Germany and was no stranger to danger. She fought for her ideas, her animals, and the people she loved most like an army veteran. No task was too daunting for Lotte; life was her oyster, and she made the most beautiful pearl out of it.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe David Hudson; partner, Michael Terry; her brother Siegfried of Germany; her mother Anna Gütter; and father Georg Geiss. She is survived by her loving daughter Cassandra Rivera; son-in-law Mario Rivera; grandson Dominic Rivera; son Robert Hudson; daughter-in-law Debbie Hudson; and her brothers Wolfgang and Georg.
Our family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a service following at 10:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM in the Ft. Bragg Main Post Cemetery.
She still lives on today through her fun loving, hardworking, compassionate, and very strong family she helped create. If you had the pleasure of knowing her, you'd know she is dancing, getting down right now amongst the stars.
