Mrs. Lillian Lewis Loyd, 92 of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 after a brief illness. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and a co-founder of the Fellowship Sunday School class. Mrs. Loyd was a Sunday school teacher, deacon,elder and elder emeritus at First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Free Spirits at the church. She was a member of the Tapestry Bible study. Mrs. Loyd was a church volunteer and a former member of the chancel choir. She was an agent and manager for Beard & White Insurance for 32 years. Mrs. Loyd was a former president of the Fayetteville Area Insurance Business Women's Association and former director of the N.C. Insurance Business Women's Association. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church sanctuary, with Dr. John Wright Coker Jr. and Dr. Larry Toney officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family wiil receive friends in Eller Hall at the church on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Mrs. Loyd is survived by her sons F. Royal "Buzz" Loyd, Jr. and wife Ann of Fayetteville and David Newman Loyd and wife Dorothy of Roswell, Ga., brothers James Oliver Lewis and wife Kitty Rose of Pinehurst, Michael Wayne Lewis and wife Betty of Fayetteville and sister Janet Rice and husband Bill of Winston-Salem. Granddaughters: Michelle Loyd Thompson and husband Carey of Apex, Debra Loyd Dewar and husband Jon of Raleigh, Cynthia Loyd Laton and husband Ross of Seven Lakes, Ginny Loyd Tunnell and husband Trey of Marietta, Ga., Heather Loyd Krueger and husband Keith of Alpharetta, Ga., Susan Loyd of Alpharetta, Ga., grandson Frank R. "Tripp" Loyd, III. and wife Amy of Apex, Greatgranddaughters Ella Thompson, Anna Dewar, Janey Dewar, Lillian Tunnell, Emmie Tunnell, Kayla Krueger, and great grandsons Logan Laton, Gavin Laton, Frank R. " Ford "Loyd, IV., Connor Loyd and Nicholas Krueger and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jobe David and Elizabeth Crumpler Lewis and husband F. Royal Loyd, Sr.,brothers J.D. Lewis and Leon Lewis and sister Mary Elizabeth Lewis. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Third Century Campaign P.O. Box 569 Fayetteville , N.C. 28302. The family wiil receive friends in Eller Hall at the church on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church sanctuary.
