Lillie H. Mims, 87, of Fayetteville, went to be her Lord and Savior Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.
She was born in College Park, Ga., Aug. 3, 1923, but has lived in Fayetteville most of her life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth L. Mims; her parents, Charles and Willie Henderson; brothers, Delmar, Curtis and Roy Henderson; and sister, Pearl Brooks.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth L. Mims and wife Brenda, Freddie H. Mims and wife Donna; daughters, Becky Campbell and Alice Schultz; sister, Edith Starling; grandchildren, Toni Hensley, Charles McBennett, Leonard Kray Mims, Alison Lucas, Marsha Murphy, Brook Callison, Kim Mims and Dillon Schultz; and many great-grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of Walstone Memorial Baptist Church. She leaves a legacy of selfless service, endless generosity, unconditional love and forgiveness and commitment to faith and family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallis officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
