Ms. Lillie Catherine Phillips Hurst, 91, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her residence.

Ms. Hurst was born in Sampson County, NC, to the late Samuel Buck Phillips and Katie Sineath Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Jasper Phillips, a daughter Cathy Phillips, a son Joe Phillips, two grandsons, Harold Gunkel II and Adam Gunkel, and her second husband, and true love, Albert Donald Hurst, as well as eleven siblings.

Ms. Hurst is survived by two daughters, Joanne Lovick and husband Larry of Falcon and Martha Gunkel and husband Harold of Eastover; four grandchildren, Cathy Tanner (Keith), Joyce Phillips, Brandon Lovick (Christy), and Jay Phillips (Steven); six great-grandchildren Kaylee Tanner (Taylon), Phillip Langreck, Mary Catherine Lovick, Elizabeth Lovick, Luke Lovick, and Nathaniel Lovick; and one great-great grandchild Ryder Gunkel.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel.
