Linda Farrell Holmes, 89 of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2016 at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital.

Mrs. Holmes served as Sunday School Teacher with the First Baptist Church, Village Baptist Church and the First Presbyterian Church, she was a bible study Fellowship Group leader, Circle Leader, Co-leader with Greg Holmes of the Highland Senior Group, President of the Sunday School Class Fellowship, served in the Stephens Ministry, Deacon and Bible School. She helped start Kindergarten at the First Baptist and Village Baptist Churches. She was a member of the70's group, received the Presbyterian Women's Service Award and Life Membership. Mrs. Holmes visited shut-ins with Mrs. Hilda Kirby for a few blessed years and was a member of the Dig-A-Bit Garden Club. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the Church Parlor.

Mrs. Holmes is survived by her daughter, Page Farrell of Wilmington; son, David Breece Farrell, Jr. and wife Cindy of Eastover; brother, Richard Taylor, Jr. and wife Carolyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Emmett Taylor, Sr. and Linda Hassell Taylor; husbands, David Breece Farrell, Sr. and Gregory G. Holmes; grandson, Colby Breece Farrell.
